"MSU has a great program--with a strong, contemporary, and down-to-earth faculty. Indeed, over the past four years, more of Shell's HR hires have come from MSU than any other school." Bill Fitzpatrick, Vice President of Human Resources, Shell Trading

Ellen Ernst Kossek

"We strive to develop leaders who see increasing globalization and diversity of employment and operational systems as processes and resources to be leveraged rather than as problems to be solved."

Ellen Ernst Kossek, Professor
School of Labor & Industrial Relations

Our off-campus MHRLR program is flexible and designed to accommodate the demanding schedules and practical needs of working professionals. Classes include lectures and hands-on discussions of real-life issues, and students engage in case analyses, team exercises, and individual work-related projects and assignments. Blending in-class and some online instruction, classes meet no more than one evening a week from 6:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.

Our program is based on a three-semester academic year, and students can elect to enroll in one or two courses each term. Students graduating in two years take two courses per semester; students graduating in four years take one course per semester.

Students who have recently completed comparable coursework in other graduate programs may be approved to transfer up to six credit hours toward the MHRLR degree.
